How much are classes?
We run students once a week for two hours. Our modules are four sessions a month for $240. One mandatory shop orientation is required at program start, typically two hours on a Saturday for $60.
What is Eagle Nest Enterprises?
We are an Eagle Creek business that specializes in teaching fun welding skills used in life enrichment.
What aviation fabrication skills do you teach?
We teach Wirefeed (MIG) ,flux core wire, stick arc, and TIG welding. We have a specialty class for aluminum welding too! Homebuilding airplanes like we do in the Experimental Aircraft Associatioin is a great hobby.
What led to Eagle Nest Enterprises starting up?
Our lead instructor had over 20 years of technical teaching experience and was let go from his dream job due to “Covid budget cuts”. That school district’s decision left high school students high and dry, so Mr. Richards opened his personal garage to work with students after his backup day job of driving a dump truck. With the help of some media attention, we decided to do it full time and Eagle Nest Enterprises was founded.
Who is eligible to sign up?
We serve a broad age range. We’ve found that usually age 14 is about the minimum, but have made exceptions based on extraordinary motivational circumstances. We’ve had students who have recorded in excess of 80 solar orbits too. Welding classes are for all ages with Zero prior experience needed. We serve students with a wide range of disabilities and are having a lot of success doing so.
So your welding classes are only for beginners?
Not at all! We start everybody in MIG1 regardless of prior experience. In this class we cover a lot of science that even experienced welders may not have ever learned. The class labs are where we differentiate the instruction and move people ahead at their own independent pace. We have yet to ever hear from any ability student that they did not get their money’s worth out of MIG1.
What is your course length and cost?
Each structured course is one month, and consists of four 2-hour sessions. Each of those sessions involves a technical briefing and content lecture, followed by as much lab time as can be squeezed in. You learn by doing, and burning wire is the best way to do it. Classes are $240 per month, and are kept low consistent with our original founding principles. You can stay with us a long as you want because as the customer, you are in control of your experience. You tell us what you want to do, and we will do our very best to make it happen.
Why so inexpensive compared to formal schools overseen by the state?
Have you ever encountered anything overseen by the state that didn’t increase costs and complexity? Public schools are a disaster, despite lots of state regulation. We want to directly serve motivated people who want some skills. We don’t have contracts. We don’t do any financing or loans. You pay for a month of guided lab time. If a month satisfies your quest for knowledge then you’re done. We’ve had people call melting metal the best therapy they’ve ever done for fun. Thank you Warn Industries, Operating Engineers Local 701, and Northwest Technologies for your enduring symbiotic faith in helping to spread our message! You’re here for fun hobby learning, what you choose to do from the foundational skill we teach are completely up to you!
